Hello Guys and Gals! Happy November!
I want to take a minute to thank all of you who have been following and supporting the development. I’ve learned a lot through your comments and you all giving me this chance to live my dream as a game developer.
Now for the bad news…. Unfortunately, my health’s been on a decline, so my school work’s been slipping. I think it’s because I’ve been stretching myself too thin with doing so much, especially in the hardest year of college (senior year, where you have to find a job or your loans will kill you). It’s because I’ve been struggling with school work so much that I’ve been cutting out major parts of the story. The episodes I release are only a third of what I have planned usually. I need time and quiet to work out the kinks in the script and really flesh out the characters, but unfortunately, I can’t get that now. I’m in a stressful rut.
So for the rest of the semester (it ends December 17th), I’ll be hands off on the development of “A Long Journey”.
I apologize for taking this time off, but I hope you all will understand.
The next episode will have much better storytelling, and I’ll be working on some bugs as well as creating an adobe air version so that people who cannot play the flash in the browser, can at least play the game on your desktop (Mac or PC).
Main characters (Auferre, Warrick, and Gavrielle) will be redesigned with their fixes, as well as a new character Al, will be introduced in, I think Episode 5? (Maybe 6).
////INDIES VS PEWDIEPIE
I’ll be joining the gamejam #indiesvspewdiepie and work on creating a quick, 3-day rpg maker game (November 21-23). I want to use this as an opportunity to get better at storytelling and mood creation so that the following episodes will be much better. I may have a stream up on twitch.tv, I’ll post a link on the day it starts if I do.
Since you all have read up to this point, I’ll tell you a secret: a character who will be the main star in the sequel to this series, will appear in this game. He is Dorian-Gray, the older brother to Warrick. He can summon minions, read the minds of people, and has a massively dark, demonic profile. I think you’ll dig him.
Well, that’s all there is from me. Until next time! :D
