Like I said, I don't want to spam the gamejolt newsletters, so I'll be posting here each week from now on about updates.
So I've been testing the tablet app, and I don't think it's going to happen for a while. Ran into a major bug, and I'll need to spend some time working on it.
As for the save file, I somehow put a -1 where I shouldn't have, so it doesn't work properly as it should. I've already updated this in the most recent file.
I did manage to finish all of Warrick's expressions. That brings my total up to 40 unique emotions, 52 different states. It should be fun..... I almost feel like going back and improving Auferre.... almost. >:D
Anyways, now with the code pretty much settled, it should take less time to get through coding. It should.
Well, that's all for now! Bye!
I think I'm getting the hang of storytelling now..... like, the next four episodes are going to be really linked together....
How are you all doing? Like, seriously. How are you? Of course I hope all is well, and if it isn't, I hope it doesn't last long. I'm doing all right. Just finished a Japanese history exam. Anyways, that has nothing to do with the game.
So I know I originally said end of March I would release episode 3. While I could easily do so, I'm not sure it would be the best quality to release it to you. I'm going to go with this decision now, and episode 3 will be released no later than April 5th. I hope you all will understand my desicion.
Because of this, Warrick had only 9 poses before. I have bumped him up to 30 poses. I'm still going, like at least another 10 before I'll call him good. The good thing with emotions is that you can take one, and make variations over the eyebrows, and smile, and it makes a completely different emotion.
As for the story, I've gotten much better with writing! :D I wanted to focus on more impact per choice. Not sure if I mentioned this before, but there will be 3 distinct endings, one gives a trophy.
That leaves the art creation of cutscenes and all for the remainder of the month.
+ Engine optimized a smidge
+ Load Game Button / Save Feature = Fixed. Should work.
+ Progress Bar shows how far you have to finish the game in the menu area
Episode 4 I am planning to release before May 6th. If any later, I'm done. I have to give up all my equipment I was borrowing to the school. Luckily, everything I build, stays. It's like legos. Once you make the code/interface, all you have to do is trim and add onto it.
I've decided to bump up the update notifications because things tend to change, and I want to keep your expectations accurate to what I am achieving.
About a year ago, I released Episode 1 for the first time, and I got the crit that the art could have been better, and I kept working on it. For those of you who pointed out the grammer mistakes in episode 2, I've also been working on the writing in general as well. You haven't seen an update for episode 2 only because I wanted to finish character artwork update as well (as I mentioned about Warrick). Episode 2 updated will hopefully released before May as well. And for everyone who has ever showed encouragement, know that you play a massive driving force in making this series as good as I possibly can! Thank you!
That's all folks! Thanks for listening, and I'll talk to you all later!
Thought I would give you all an update. I am have found a new prototyping software that really helps me see the writing and changes before I make a game out of it. I think it's going to really enhance the experience.
As for things to do: Need to finish writing one more chapter for Episode 3, and give Warrick at least another 20 emotions, and Auferre, another 5.
Also, I was wondering for those who follow the blog, would you like to get weekly updates? I don't mind posting them here if you would like. Please comment below to tell me what you think. I may as well just post them and see if anyone follows.
That's all! Have a great break!
